Things About Cecil
After riding around for some time listing to WBOP I decided one day to give Grover “ Papa Rock“ Rivers a call. I asked if I could come by the studio and meet him, and as a result. My career in broadcasting began in 1974 at Radio Station WBOP in Pensacola Florida on the golf coast 100,000 watt Giant while serving in the USN. Having the love of Radio since my early teens, with such influence’s as, Robert & Rufus Thomas also Chris ‘’ The Love Man’’ Turner of WDIA in Memphis, along with ‘’Spider Man’’ & “Wolf Man Jack’’ of legendary 15 WLAC Nashville Tenn. in the late 60’s & early 70’s my passion for radio grew. Upon being discharged from the Navy in 1975 I returned home to Forrest City Arkansas, and in 1976 I enrolled, and graduated from Ellkins Broadcasting Institute in Memphis Tenn. Since I have worked at KAKJ, KCLT FM in Helena Arkansas, KAPW FM Cotton Plant Arkansas, WJWC Gallon Alabama, and I did a syndicated show called The Runda”Vu .
